Create your own needle felted foxgloves “wool painting” in this fun and relaxing workshop!
In this fun and relaxed VIRTUAL workshop, Erin will teach you how to create a stalk of lovely foxgloves in a soft green meadow. Starting with a piece of pure wool felt as your base, you will have the opportunity to work with several types of wool as you build up the surface of your picture through needle felting. We’ll be making a mostly two-dimensional felted piece, but it will have some wonderful added dimension that pops out from the surface as we layer the flowers over the meadow. The end result will be your own unique foxgloves “wool painting,” ready to frame in your wooden hoop and hang on a wall!
Some felting experience is recommended for this workshop, as we will be working with small details when we create our foxglove flowers.
Workshop will be held over Zoom on Sunday, July 17th from 1pm-4:30pm EST. You will be emailed a zoom link and password as soon as your order is received. Your materials kit is included and will be shipped to you. Materials included in this kit are:
- 4″ wood embroidery hoop
- 2 #38 felting needles
- foam pad
- sheet of pure wool felt
- assorted colors of wool for your foxglove landscape
Additional materials needed:
- tacky glue – for adhering the backing to the hoop upon completion of project
- scissors – small, sharp sewing scissors work best, as this will be for trimming the excess felt around the frame.
- backing material cut into a 4″ circle (can be paper, felt, or any fabric – you’ll glue this on the back of the embroidery hoop once your needle felted work is complete and framed). You may wish to simply trace around the hoop when you receive it to match the size of the hoop to your backing material.
