Spring Break Needle Felting Workshop for Youth - 4/22/25 

In this youth-focused workshop, participants will learn how to needle felt a unique landscape out of wool! This workshop will be led by John Gardner of Grey Fox Felting.  John has been needle felting for a decade, and he has taught many of his students this fun art form in his role as a certified K-12 art teacher. This is a great opportunity for kids to get out over spring break and try a new creative activity that is both rewarding and relaxing!

Red-Winged Blackbird Workshop at The Local Bird - 5/1/25 

Celebrate spring and create your own red-winged blackbird! In this beginner-friendly workshop, Erin will guide participants step-by-step in creating their own unique needle felted bird. Beginners are welcome, and all materials are included! Plus, enjoy complimentary tea & coffee while you work!

Needle Felted Wildflower Meadow Workshop at CNY Fiber Arts Festival - 6/7/25 

In this workshop, Erin will introduce participants to the wonderfully satisfying process of needle felting as they are guided step-by-step in creating a unique wildflower meadow. This art form involves using a special barbed needle to make repeated pokes into fluffy wool fiber, causing the fibers to tangle and mat together, forming felt. Participants will create a “wool painting” as they needle felt colored bits of wool directly onto a sheet of wool felt, creating a beautiful two-dimensional felted landscape. All materials will be provided.

Needle Felted Wildflower Meadow Workshop at Thomas Cole Site - 6/14/25 

In this workshop, Erin will introduce participants to the wonderfully satisfying process of needle felting as they are guided step-by-step in creating a unique wildflower meadow. We will take inspiration from the beautiful gardens on the grounds of the site and Emily Cole, daughter of Thomas Cole, who was an esteemed artist known for her botanical paintings.

The process of needle felting involves using a special barbed needle to make repeated pokes into fluffy wool fiber, causing the fibers to tangle and mat together, forming felt. Participants will create a “wool painting” as they needle felt colored bits of wool directly onto a sheet of wool felt, creating a beautiful two-dimensional felted landscape. All materials will be provided.

Needle Felted Tiger Workshop at Fenimore Art Museum - 9/20/25 

In this workshop, Erin will introduce participants to the wonderfully satisfying process of needle felting as they are guided step-by-step in creating an adorable miniature bust of a tiger out of wool. 

The process of needle felting involves using a special barbed needle to make repeated pokes into fluffy wool fiber, causing the fibers to tangle and mat together, forming felt. Participants will create a sculptural portrait of a tiger which will then be felted directly onto a sheet of wool felt and finished with a 4" wood embroidery frame. All materials will be provided.

Needle Felted Holiday Cat Workshop at Thomas Cole Site - 11/8/25 

In this workshop, Erin will introduce participants to the wonderfully satisfying process of needle felting as they are guided step-by-step in creating an adorable festive cat. 

The process of needle felting involves using a special barbed needle to make repeated pokes into fluffy wool fiber, causing the fibers to tangle and mat together, forming felt. Participants will create a sculptural cat wearing a holiday headpiece of leaves and berries. All materials will be provided.
