Playful Fibers Sampler for Needle Felting, Wet Felting, and Nuno Felting - Pick your Palette!

Want to add some new textures and effects to your needle felted and wet felted projects? Our Playful Fibers Sampler may be just what you're looking for! Each assortment will include a variety of beautiful materials to incorporate into your wool felted projects for added richness and textural variety! Choose from a rainbow assortment, or pick your desired color palette.

You will see a mix of non-wool fibers as well as some wool in the form of pre-felt or woven ribbon. This is a great way to experiment with a variety of colors and materials, and no two bags will be the same!
Because most of the fibers in these assortments are plant-based and do not have the same qualities as wool, they will not felt very well on their own. These non-wool fibers need to be either blended with another animal fiber (usually wool) before felting; or if using on their own, worked into an easily felting fiber such as wool.
Many of these fibers can also be blended with other fibers for spinning.

While each sampler is unique, they will all include:
- at least 10 samples of materials (You may receive more than one sample of the same type of fiber in the same bag, but in more than one different color.)
- a total of 2 oz. of unique fibers
- an assortment of colors of your choosing (just use the drop-down menu to select your palette!)
- amounts of each material will vary in size and be anywhere from 0.05 oz. - 0.2 oz.

Possible fibers included are:
silk, ramie, wool pre-felt (ribbon), bamboo, viscose, wool etamine (ribbon), wool/silk blend roving, cotton, sari silk waste, wool nepps + slubs

How to use the fibers in these assortments:

WET FELTING:
Lay pieces of the material out over your base of wool before felting. For thicker pieces of non-wool fiber on the surface of your piece, you may wish to lay a light "veil" of wool over them before felting to help them adhere. Then proceed to wet felt all the fibers together to allow the non-wool fiber to become attached into the wool.

NEEDLE FELTING:
Use materials in small amounts over a base of felted wool, or hand blend/card non-wool fibers with wool before felting. Combining the non-wool fiber with wool will allow the needle to grip both types of fiber and felt them together.
