Needle Felted Goldenrod Tutorial - PDF Digital Download

In these instructions, you will be introduced to the art of two-dimensional needle felting, also referred to as wool painting. You’ll be guided, step by step, as you poke colorful bits of wool into a sheet of wool felt to create a lovely work of felted art!

Materials List for Goldenrod Project:

- 0.1 oz. each of Olive merino roving, Goldenrod blended batting, and Sunlight merino/silk roving (These are the colors and types of wool I use for this project; feel free to select your own colors/types of wool that you prefer to work with!)

- 2 felting needles (#36T, #38T)

- foam pad (5” x 6” x 1.5” minimum size)

- oval wood embroidery hoop (6.5” x 4.24”)

- sheet of Cream colored wool felt (8” x 6”)

- small scissors

- paper or felt for backing (This will need to be the same size as the embroidery hoop to cover the back of your finished piece.)

- washable fabric pen

- tacky glue
