Reverse Triangle Felting Needles - 40 gauge - pack of 6 - for creating fluffy effects

We are happy to offer our favorite, durable felting needles, color coded for your convenience.

You will receive a pack of six Reverse felting needles in a #40 gauge. This is a unique type of felting needle, in that its barbs face in the opposite direction as all of our other felting needles. Because of this structure, wool fibers catch on the needle as you are pulling it out of the wool rather than pushing into it, resulting in a fluffy effect on the surface of felted pieces.

Possible Uses:
- create long fur/hair/fluff on animals by first using a regular felting needle to sculpt your piece, and then using this needle to pull some of the fibers back out
- create interesting blended effects by felting different colored layers of wool on top of each other, and then using this needle afterwards to pull some of the inner layers of wool back out. You can push the needle in at different depths into your piece to control which hidden layer of wool you pull back up, as it will grab onto the wool wherever the barbs come into contact.

Needles are industrial grade steel, measuring 3" long. Each needle has 6 barbs (two per side) with staggered spacing for reliable felting action.

Needles are are packaged in a sturdy paper tube with a color coding key for convenient storage and easy reference.
